The Expanded Beam is a structural element with lightweight web system designed as a simply supported. An expanded beam is the result of the expansion of an "I" beam. Following a special cut pattern, both T resulting pieces are welded making a deeper beam with hexagonal, octagonal, or circular openings. This product offers certain advantages that make it the most efficient structure at floor framings in relatively long clear spans such as parking garages, malls or multi level buildings. Being this an open web element of which the original depth of beam increases, it will result as an improved element with better structural properties and with the same original weight. The geometry of these elements, provide a more innovative design and aesthetic look for the construction industry. It allows web openings depending on the project requirements, giving the possibility of installations going through its web. Can be manufactured in shop with a standard camber.
